The TriHauler Terra Dual Drive T5 is a fat tire electric tricycle for adults with front and rear Bafang motors, torque-sensing pedal assist and a 550 lb total payload. Choose Black or White with a single 20Ah battery or dual 40Ah batteries.
How do dual motors help on hills and rough roads?
Two 750W Bafang motors drive the front and rear of the T5, supporting hill routes and trips with cargo. Torque-sensing pedal assist responds to how hard you pedal, bringing electric assistance to everyday journeys, gravel paths and off-road outings.
What can a 550 lb cargo electric trike carry?
A 550 lb total payload gives you room for the rider and everyday cargo. Front and rear baskets carry groceries, work supplies or picnic essentials, making this heavy-duty electric tricycle for adults a way to combine transportation with hauling.
How does the low-step frame make daily rides easier?
Step through the frame, settle into an upright riding position and adjust the saddle to suit your reach. Front suspension and 4-inch fat tires help cushion uneven surfaces, so neighborhood streets, mountain roads and outdoor routes can become part of your day.
Should you choose the 20Ah or 40Ah battery option?
Choose one 20Ah battery for your usual trips, or two 20Ah batteries for more time between charges. Both options power the same dual-motor electric trike, giving you a choice of battery capacity in either Black or White.
How do reverse and cruise control simplify your ride?
Reverse helps you back out of a parking space or reposition the trike without lifting it. On straight, level and open routes, cruise control maintains a steady pace. These functions add ways to manage stops, parking and longer stretches of your route.
What helps you turn, stop and park your electric trike?
The rear differential lets the rear wheels rotate at different speeds through a turn. Hydraulic disc brakes provide stopping control, while parking locks help hold the trike during loading or when parked on uneven ground or slopes. Reflective tire sidewalls and rear turn signals add visibility.

The LED headlight provides 226 lux at 5 meters to illuminate the route ahead.
The Shimano 6-speed freewheel uses a 14–34T range. Select a gear appropriate for your pace and riding conditions.
The GEMMA GA-2000-5 system uses three hydraulic calipers and 160 mm rotors. Braking cuts motor power, while parking locks hold the trike at a stop. Hydraulic braking and heat dissipation help shorten braking distance.
A 24 × 4-inch front tire and 20 × 4-inch rear tires combine puncture protection with reflective sidewalls for all-terrain riding.
The KMC C7NP chain is rust-proof and designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, including salt, high humidity, snow and heavy rain.
A leather comfort saddle supports the upright riding position. Saddle height adjusts from 35 to 42 inches.
The central rear taillight combines running-light, brake-light and left/right turn-signal functions. Cancel the turn signal manually after turning.

T5 FAQs
How is the T5 dual-motor electric trike different from the T4?
The T5 has two continuous-rated 750W Bafang motors, one at the front and one at the rear, for 1,500W combined rated power. The T4 has a single 1000W rear-drive motor. Both use torque-sensing pedal assist. T5 peak output is approximately 1,026W per motor, with up to 76.2 N·m of output-shaft torque per motor.
How steep a hill can the T5 electric trike climb?
In HJM’s loaded testing, the T5 climbed grades up to 46.6% (25°) on paved hills and loose gravel or dirt with suitable traction. No thermal protection activation or power reduction was observed. This is a test result, not a continuous-climb rating. Climb duration was not specified; hill length, traction, surface and total load affect performance.
How does T5 thermal protection work on long climbs?
Motor current limiting begins at 150°C; at 180°C, current is limited to 8A. Controller current limiting begins at 80°C, with power cut off at 110°C. If the trike stalls on a slope with the throttle engaged, the controller cuts current after approximately 8 seconds. Prolonged steep climbs can reduce power or interrupt output; these protections do not enable unlimited low-speed climbing.
Is the T5 40Ah option one battery or two 20Ah batteries?
The 40Ah option consists of two 48V 20Ah batteries, for 1,920Wh total. The single-battery option has one 48V 20Ah battery, rated at 960Wh. Both battery options are offered in Black and White. Select a battery option in the purchase area to see its current price and availability.
What range should I expect in dual-motor mode, especially on hills?
In HJM’s flat-road testing, a single 20Ah battery delivered approximately 22 miles (35 km) in dual-motor mode with a combined rider and cargo weight of about 220 lb (100 kg).
For frequent steep hill climbing with a 200–250 lb rider (91–113 kg), HJM estimates approximately 9–12 miles (15–20 km) in dual-motor mode with one 20Ah battery. This hill-range figure is an estimate, not a measured guarantee. Actual range varies with terrain, total load, speed, temperature and operating conditions. These figures describe different conditions from maximum-range estimates; no tested 40Ah hill-range figure is provided here.
What brakes and parking locks does the T5 use?
The GEMMA GA-2000-5 system uses three hydraulic brake calipers and 160 mm front and rear rotors. Parking locks hold the trike at a stop during loading or parking; they are not downhill speed control. There is no dedicated hill-control assistance. Maintain a controlled descent speed, stay within load limits and follow the manual, especially on gravel or uneven ground.
Where are the T5 turn signals, and are they visible from the side?
The turn signals are integrated into the central rear taillight. In daytime observations, they were visible but less noticeable at 30° and 60° rear viewing angles, and not visible at 90° from the side. At dusk and night, they were clearly visible at all three angles. Visibility varies with conditions; do not assume a signal is visible from every direction.
How does a three-wheel electric trike handle compared with a bicycle?
A trike handles differently from a two-wheel bicycle. Practice starting, stopping and turning in a clear area, and slow down before corners. HJM observed stable handling on a 26.8% (15°) descent under its test conditions; this is not a guaranteed safe descent limit. Surface, traction and load affect handling. Three wheels do not make a trike tip-proof.
Can the 1500W T5 ride on public roads, bike paths or trails?
Access depends on local vehicle classification and the road or trail operator’s rules. The T5 has 1,500W combined continuous-rated motor power and an approximately 20 mph assisted speed. Speed alone does not establish e-bike classification or riding permission. Confirm the applicable requirements with the relevant local authority or trail operator before riding.
What warranty and replacement-parts support does the T5 include?
Motors and the battery are covered for 24 months or 1,500 miles; controllers and displays for 6 months or 1,500 miles, whichever comes first. The Warranty Policy governs eligibility and exclusions. Common replacement parts are generally stocked in the United States, subject to availability. A complete front wheel with an integrated motor may require a supplier special order. Confirm the exact part and lead time before ordering.
How much setup does the T5 require on delivery?
The wheels and pedals arrive installed. Secure the handlebars according to the supplied instructions and complete the pre-ride checks before riding. Setup and operation guides are available through Support.
What rider height fits the T5, and how much storage room does it need?
The listed recommended rider height is 5'0" (152 cm) and above. Overall length is 75 inches and overall width is 30.7 inches. Saddle height adjusts from 35 to 42 inches; rear-wheel track is 25.6 inches, measured between tire centers. Check saddle height, handlebar reach, access width and storage space for your individual fit.
Does the T5 550 lb payload include the rider and basket loads?
Yes. The 550 lb total payload includes the rider, cargo and added accessories. The front basket limit is 60 lb and the rear basket or rack limit is 220 lb. These limits apply within the total; they are not extra capacity. Secure the load and follow the loading instructions.
How do T5 reverse and cruise control work for everyday riding?
Reverse helps you back out of a parking space or reposition the trike. Cruise control maintains a steady pace on straight, level and open routes. Use both functions as directed in the owner’s manual, with room to maneuver and your hands ready to brake.
